General Layout

Start		Provides an entry point to the CD-ROM with a home page, in addition to the copyright statement, a forward statement, acknowledgements, a description of the authors and the disclaimer. The home page is linked to this CD-ROM Guide which provides a description of the layout of the CD-ROM.
Introduction		This section provides an overview of the CD-ROM and an introduction to the work. This should enable the user to determine if they wish to explore further.
Data		This section contains the main datasets of the CD-ROM. Socio-Economic and Natural Conditions data is provided for various topics, complete with descriptive text and maps for viewing and download. Examples of applications of the data are provided under Land Endowment. Descriptive text and maps are also available for viewing and download.
References		Contains general reference information pertaining to the data available on the CD-ROM. References provides a listing of all references cited in the descriptive text. The glossary contains a set of scientific terms referred to on the CD with an explanation. Some terms appear in the text as bold, and this means an explanation exists in the glossary. A site map provides a complete description of all menus on the CD. The download data option allows for quick access to the digital data available on this CD-ROM.
Administrative		This section provides some administrative details, describing the partners on the CD, the authors and acknowledgements.

Recommended Usage

It is recommended that the user first read the overview and introductory sections, and become acquainted with the menu system. Following this, they should then proceed to the baseline data and follow the links. This will provide them with descriptive text and maps for visualizing the data. This should provide enough information to assess if they wish to download the data. The Applications section is in a similar format, with the option to download data if desired.
