FOR's Research Related to Uncertainty

FOR is involved in a number of activities that require researching uncertainty. These activities aim at constraining uncertainties of greenhouse gas flux assessments and thus at verifying net greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere, and to contributing to the handling of uncertain emission changes under the Kyoto Protocol and succeeding international negotiations (see also Forestry Scientific Directives 2006-2010: Constraining and Handling Uncertainties of GHG Fluxes). This website provides a holistic umbrella. It shows how the various uncertainty activities are interlinked, which follow three tracks:

Bottom-up Full Carbon and Greenhouse Gas Accounting
