Researcher Equity and Justice Research Group - Population and Just Societies Program
Teresa M. Deubelli is a researcher jointly associated with the Systemic Risk and Resilience Research Group of the IIASA Advancing Systems Analysis Program and the Equity and Justice Research Group of the IIASA Population and Just Societies Program. She first joined IIASA in April 2019 as part of the former Risk and Resilience Program.
Her work at IIASA includes research and stakeholder engagement on building resilience and managing climate-related risks for the Zurich Flood Resilience Alliance and the EU-funded Cross-sector dialogue for Wildfire Risk Management (FIRELOGUE). She previously worked on a systems innovation approach aimed at forging resilience in the Climate-KIC 'Forging Resilience' Deep Demonstration and the IIASA-International Science Council (ISC) Consultative Science Platform. Her expertise and research interests include inclusive disaster risk governance and decision-making on the development-disaster-climate change nexus, as well as participatory stakeholder engagement tools.
Prior to joining IIASA, she worked at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) as well as at the European Commission Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO).
She has a transdisciplinary background in public policy and comparative governance analysis, and has studied Political Science, East Asian Studies, and Development Studies at the University of Vienna, Austria; Sciences Po Paris, France; and at Seoul National University, South Korea.
