Researcher Novel Data Ecosystems for Sustainability Research Group - Advancing Systems Analysis Program
Martin Hofer joined the Novel Data Ecosystems for Sustainability (NODES) Research Group of the IIASA Advancing Systems Analysis (ASA) Program in May 2021 as a research scholar. His current research focuses on combining remote sensing, machine learning, and classical statistical methods to monitor societal, economic, and environmental change , particularly in rural areas and agriculture. His current project focuses on the needs and vulnerabilities of rural areas in the EU.
He holds a master's degree in economics from the Vienna University of Economics and Business in Austria and is finishing his PhD studies at the same university. His thesis focuses on the use of remote sensing in poverty measurements.
