Eva Preinfalk joined the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in February 2022 as a researcher in the Equity and Justice Research Group of the Population and Just Societies Program. Her work at IIASA includes the evaluation and design of disaster risk management strategies in the context of wildfire. Her main research interest lies in the socioeconomic assessment of climate risk and the design of sustainable and equitable management options in line with the concept of a Just Transition.
Preinfalk is a doctoral student in economics at the University of Graz, Austria, where she studied empirical economics and environmental system sciences. In her previous research, she combined stakeholder engagement with economic modeling. Her expertise lies in the macroeconomic assessment of climate change impacts and the evaluation of adaptation strategies, focusing especially on public sector action.
