TFIAM 50th Meeting
April 21-23, 2021, from 13:00 to 17:00

The 50th meeting of the Task Force on Integrated Assessment Modelling will be held on 21-23 April, 2021 as a virtual meeting using "Zoom" video conferencing software.

TFIAM50 will provide an update on new developments in European Integrated Assessment Modelling. Under this theme, experts are invited to present both results from European-scale and national-scale model developments as well as results from assessment studies made with IAM. Of special interest for assessments are the short- and long-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on air quality.

TFIAM will this time also have a special emphasis on the ongoing review of the Gothenburg Protocol and on clarifying the roles of the working groups closely linked to TFIAM.

Task Force on Integrated Assessment Modelling (TFIAM)

The Task Force on Integrated Assessment Modelling (TFIAM) was established by the Executive Body of the UNECE Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution (CLRTAP) at its fourth session in 1986. In the following years integrated assessment models were developed that provided the basis for negotiation of the 1994 Oslo Protocol and the Gothenburg Protocol in 1999. The Task Force is co-chaired by the Netherlands and Sweden.

The Task Force’s main focus is to combine information gathered from the Parties and from other Convention bodies and scientific working groups, and through computer models assist in the development of legal instruments (protocols).
