Knowledge Centre on Migration and Demography
About the center
Today many EU member states face increasing pressure from high levels of migration challenging the cohesion of their societies. At the same time, aging in Europe implies that over the longer term there will be fewer people of working age to keep the economy growing. The European Union aims aims to provide member states with the necessary tools to manage the refugee crisis, and also to prepare for future challenges linked to longer-term global demographic and migration trends.
Against this background, IIASA and the European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC) have agreed to establish the Centre of Expertise on Population and Migration, whihc is part of the European Commission's new Knowledge Centre on Migration and Demography. Read more>>
