03 September 2017 - 06 September 2017
The conference focuses on new developments of energy conversion technologies, energy policies and their effects on a national as well as global level, the efficient use of different types of primary energy resources, and possible solutions to halt global warming.
IIASA researchers from the Energy Program will be speaking at the event. There will be discussions on which new technologies are required and the role they may play in a future supply system consisting of decentralized and central supply units (power plants, refineries, pipelines). These discussions will be accompanied by technical tours to nuclear power and waster incineration plants.
During the conference, PhD students and junior researchers will have an opportunity to present their research work related to energy economics and engineering, and benefit from expert review of their papers for submission to journals .
A one-day post-conference workshop will follow on 7 September bringing together participants interested in energy modeling under the Navigating the Roadmap for Clean, Secure and Efficient Energy Innovation project.
