As a leading international research center, IIASA brings talented scientists and substantial research funding to its host country, Austria. On 12 June, IIASA Director General and CEO Prof. Dr. Pavel Kabat will present IIASA's recent work to the delegation from the Joint Research Centre (JRC), and will meet with JRC Director General Vladimir Sucha.
The meeting includes leaders from other key institutes and universities in Austria, and representatives of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research, and Economy (BMWFW), as well as presentations from Barbara Weitgruber, Director General for Scientific Research and International Relations of the BMWFW, Wolfgang Liebert, head of the Institute for Safety and Risk Sciences at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU) in Vienna; and Stefan Hanslik, head of the Technical Sciences Unit of the BMWFW.
IIASA has ongoing research collaborations with both BOKU and the JRC. The Board of Governors of the JRC will also be visiting IIASA in Laxenburg later this month.

Joint Research Centre's mission is to provide EU policies with independent, evidence-based scientific and technical support throughout the whole policy cycle.
