The UN Millennium Development Goals were established to address poverty, education, and health around the world. While the current effort has made substantial progress, the goals end in 2015, and stakeholders are working to frame new goals to continue beyond 2015. As part of that effort, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon established a High-Level Panel to advise on the framework beyond 2015.

On 26 March, the IIASA delegation took part in a gala dinner hosted by the Indonesian president, organized by Kuntoro as Head of National Committee on Post-2015 Development Agenda and involving Minister of Research & Technology Professor Gusti M. Hatta and Secretary of INCASA Idwan Suhardi. On 27 March, the delegation will participate in the High Level Panel of Eminent Persons (HLPEP) Co-Chairs and Panelists Meeting.
