The main purpose of the Center is to foster collaboration and promote research at the BOKU both internally (interdepartmental) and externally (at local, national and international levels) in the fields of global change and sustainability, and to promote sustainability within the BOKU in academics (teaching and research) as well as daily BOKU operations (operational ecology).
IIASA collaborates with the Center for Global Change and Sustainability in the following areas:
Loss and Damage (L&D) has gained traction since it became apparent that climate change would lead to impacts that cannot, or will not, be tackled by mitigation or adaptation.
