29 September 2019 - 05 October 2019
Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil
In September 2019, for the first time Latin America will host a World Congress of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO). Organized and coordinated by the Brazilian Forest Service (SFB) and Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (EMBRAPA), the event will span 8 days and host a multitude of national and international forestry experts. Approximately three thousand participants are expected at the event, which will discuss various aspects related to forest research.
The Congress will offer the opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge on technological innovations, as well as to stay up to date on the latest research findings and trends for the future of forestry and forest research in all areas of the world.
IIASA’s ESM researchers will be participating in the congress with presentations, session chairing and project presentations. A delegation of RESTORE+ researchers will present their work in various technical sessions as well as a lunch-time side-event (see more below) and a full session will be dedicated to Cool Forests (B8b), chaired by Florian Kraxner (acting IBFRA president).
