This three-day meeting is the second opportunity for REDD-PAC project partners to review together the work progress and pending issues. The United Nations Environment Program – World Conservation Monitoring Center (UNEP-WCMC) (UK) is hosting the event, and will welcome guests from all the REDD-PAC partners: IIASA, the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) (Brazil) and the Central African Forest Commission (COMIFAC) (Congo Basin). Bilateral sessions will allow partners to work on specific issues.

The REDD+ Policy Assessment Center (REDD-PAC) is a collaboration that provides policy and technical support to the United Nations’ Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation, Plus conservation and enhancement of forest carbon stocks and sustainable management of forests (REDD+). The REDD-PAC project aims to identify REDD+ policies that are economically efficient, socially acceptable, can safeguard and enhance ecosystem values, and help to meet the goals of the Convention on Biological Diversity. The REDD-PAC project will build up on the partners’ experience in integrated land-use modeling.
