Environmental Research Letters Highlights of 2013

IIASA Energy Program Scientist Shonali Pachauri's article "Pathways to Achieve Universal Household Access to Modern Energy by 2030" has been selected to feature in the collection of research highlights of 2013 by the Environmental Research Letters (ERL).

Published articles featured in this collection have been at the forefront of research highlighting many critical areas, including greenhouse gas emission assessment,s sea-level rise, community response strategies to environmental change, linkages between environmental change and conflict, and the role of journalism in climate issues. 

Dr. Pachauri's article, co-authored with other IIASA scientists, Yu Nagai, Keywan Riahi and Nebojsa Nakicenovic, is one of 25 outstanding articles featured in this collection. 

Researchers estimate a cost for universal access to energy

Universal access to modern energy could be achieved with an investment of between 65 and 86 billion dollars a year up until 2030, according to new IIASA research. More
