Science Meets Parliaments is organized by The Center for the Promotion of Science in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development (MPN) under the patronage of the Joint Research Centrе (JRC) of the European Commission.

The original Science Meets Parliaments was launched in 2015 by the JRC and the European Parliament Panel for the Future of Science and Technology (STOA). The event aimed at enhancing the idea about a necessary relationship and joint action between politicians and scientific and research community. The main theme of the program is dedicated to the dramatic influence the climate changes have on society, that is, the need of an urgent reaction and the appropriate adjustment of society. This will be the first year the meeting is held in Serbia on the national Science day and the first time its organization is entrusted to a country outside of the EU.

The meeting will be organized into three panel discussions:

  1. Renewable sources of energy
  2. Climate changes affect water
  3. Air quality and greenhouse gases

Nebojsa Nakicenovic will be a member of the panel session: "Renewable sources of energy" from 11:00 to 12:15.
