Research Scholar Transformative Institutional and Social Solutions Research Group - Energy, Climate, and Environment Program
Ms. Benigna Boza-Kiss is a research scholar with the IIASA Energy, Climate, and Environment (ECE) program, in the Transformative Institutional and Social Solutions (TISS) and Sustainable Service Systems (S3) research groups. She is working on low emission and low energy demand scenarios, including their policy relevance and sustainable development (SDG) implications. Her main research interest is in understanding the trends and dynamics of technology, behavior and policy developments in the area of sustainable development, climate change, SDGs, and related to their nexus with other fields. Furthermore, she is responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of the Energy and Carbon Emissions Inventories Database (ECDB) that can be used to show the trends and underlying factors of uncertainty in energy and emissions reporting.
Ms. Boza-Kiss holds an MSc in environmental science and policy from a joint program of the Central European University (CEU, Budapest, Hungary) and Manchester University. She also completed an MSc in Biology and a bachelor's degree in Scientific English Translation at Eotvos Lorand University (Budapest, Hungary). Prior to joining IIASA, she worked at CEU as a researcher on energy end-use technologies, and on the policy-science interface developing evidence-based policy support tools; at the European Commission, Joint Research Center (JRC) on energy efficiency policies, financing and demand side behavior; and at the GreenDependent Institute (Hungary) with a focus on the research-citizen interface related to sustainable lifestyles. Currently, she holds a parallel research position at CEU and is working toward her PhD on policy interaction.
