LAND PRODUCTIVITY

Land ProductivityProductivity refers to the capacity of agricultural lands to produce biomass, which is defined through a combination of factors, including solar heat, moisture, soil conditions, input level etc. Potential and achievable levels of productivity can be distinguished. Natural factors determine the potential productivity of agricultural lands, such as: solar radiation, moisture availability, nutrition and water-air soil regimes. The achievable productivity of agricultural lands refers to that which is influenced by diseases and pests, ie. by factors which are predetermined by land management conditions. More Details...
