STATISTICS - Database

Source
Forest Project, IIASA, Land Resources of Russia CD-ROM. The socioeconomic database originates from GOSCOMSTAT.

Technical Description
Each section of the socioeconomic description is stored in two different types of tables: the year-field table and the parameter-field table. In the year-field table the distinct values of the years (i.e. 1987 through 1993) form the column names of the data items. In the parameter-field table the data items are named using the parameter code values as column names. The data stored in these two table types is the same, the technical layout of the table differs due to a matrix transformation. Since the number of columns in a data table is limited, each of the year-field table is broken down in a number of parameter-field tables.

The data tables of the socio-economic description have been named using the template of 'PREFIX_BASE_SUFFIX', where:
the 'PREFIX' denotes the socioeconomic description being 'SE_'.
The 'BASE' identifies the data section with the template 'SXXYY_', where SXX is the number of the section and YY (optionally only for the parameter-field tables) is the serial number for the different versions of the tables.

The 'SUFFIX' has four possibilities:
'YF' - marks that the table is a year-field table.
'PF' - marks that the table is a parameter-field table.
'ECN' - marks that the table is a year-field table and the data is aggregated on an economic region level.
'SEP' - marks that the table is a year-field table and the data is only for the so called separated regions. The separated regions are administrative regions that have been divided in the year 1991 in smaller administrative units. The tables contain the data for the old and for the new regional units for comparison.
