Research Scholar Integrated Biosphere Futures Research Group - Biodiversity and Natural Resources Program
Ipsita Kumar joined the Integrated Biosphere Futures Group of the IIASA Biodiversity and Natural Resources Program in January 2023. She has an interdisciplinary background focusing on the food-energy-water nexus. She works on the Global Biosphere Management Model (GLOBIOM).
She has a Masters (MSc) in Economics from TERI School of Advanced studies, Delhi, India, a Masters (MA) in Climate and Society from Columbia University, New York, USA, and a PhD in Geographical Sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA.
She has previously worked at the Columbia Water Center, Columbia University, New York, USA; The Energy and Resources Institute, New Delhi, India; the University of West Indies, Jamaica; the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), New Delhi, India; the International Policy Center for Inclusive Growth, Brasilia, Brazil; and UNWomen, New Delhi, India.
