Dor Fridman is an IIASA-Israel Water Program post-doctoral scholar. As part of the IIASA Water Research Group in the Biodiversity and Natural Resources Program, he works on the Water Futures and Solutions for Israel (WaFS-Israel) project, which will use the IIASA Community Water Model (CWatM) to simulate water cycles between 2000 and 2050 in two important Israeli hydrological basins. The simulations will explore how various socioeconomic, climatic trajectories, and management options form a set of plausible futures affecting Israel's water stress level. He is currently working on hydrological modeling.
Prior to joining IIASA, Fridman dealt extensively with interregional sustainability, the sustainability of food systems, and environmental accounting. His research interests cover the interactions and feedback between natural and human systems across time and space.
His teaching experience includes over five years in different courses and positions. Between 2017 and 2021 he taught GIS to MA students in an urban planning program at the Geography Department of the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel.
Fridman holds PhD and MA degrees from the Department of Geography and Environmental Development at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, and a BA degree in Geography and Economics from the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. He is a Milken Institute Fellows' Program alumni (2012/3).
