Measrainsey Meng is a research scholar in the Integrated Assessment and Climate Change Research Group and the Sustainable Service Systems Research Group of the IIASA Energy, Climate, and Environment Program. Her research interests include the distributional impacts of low-carbon transition pathways on human and environmental systems, the water-energy nexus, and electricity grid modeling.
Prior to joining IIASA, Meng worked as a data scientist at Invenia Labs and as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her postdoctoral research focused on modeling the effects of different energy sectors' decarbonization pathways on the climate, human health, and labor forces. Meng completed her PhD in Environmental Engineering at the University of Southern California, where she studied how climate variability impacted the operational and environmental performance of electricity systems.
