IIASA leaders at Earth League launch

On 7 February, IIASA leaders will join the inaugural meeting of the Earth League, a new group of scientists and institutions working together on global issues.

IIASA Director & CEO Prof. Dr. Pavel Kabat and Deputy Director Nebojsa Nakicenovic have been named as initial members of the Earth League, an alliance composed of leading scientists and institutions who deal with planetary processes and sustainability. The Earth League focuses on producing, sharing, and applying knowledge that can help lead to solutions to human-driven, or anthropogenic, changes on our planet.

During the meeting at Imperial College in London, Climate Service Center Professor Guy Brasseur, acting chair of the Earth League, will introduce the group and its aims. Stockholm Resilience Center Executive Director Johann Rockström will give the Inaugural Lecture.
