Oslo Energy Forum 2014

IIASA Deputy Director General and Deputy CEO, Nebojsa Nakicenovic, will participate in the closing panel of the Oslo Energy Forum to discuss the world's most pressing energy questions and specifically to address the road ahead and future strategies to meet future energy requirements.

The Oslo Energy Forum, formerly known as the Sanderstølen Conference, has become one of the world's most important meeting places for the energy industry.  For over 40 years, the Forum has brought together government decision-makers, top policy thinkers and key business leaders from the energy and power sectors, as well as the transportation and financial services industries to discuss the full spectrum of energy affordability, security and sustainability. 

The Forum is devoted not only to understanding the key geopolitical and economic trends related to energy, but it also aims to stimulate industry thinking around innovation, climate change and environmental policies. 

Nebojsa Nakicenovic will represent IIASA in the closing panel of the Forum.  In addition to synthesizing the salient discussion points of the Forum, they will discuss in detail the "road ahead" to adapting to a change world, and ushering a new world vision for Energy.

The Oslo Energy Forum is renowned for its collegial atmosphere and is attended by almost 200 delegates on an invitation only basis. It facilitates and informal and open dialogue.
