14 June 2018 - 16 June 2018
Hong Kong
This 16th international conference organized by the International Society for Quality-of-Life Studies (ISQOLS) and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University is themed around the promotion of quality of life in the changing world. With emerging global challenges such as mental health issues, aging population, global warming, pollution and inequalities, this conference constitutes a platform for researchers and practitioners in different fields to make presentations on academic and practical research findings on quality of life, well-being, and happiness, with particular reference to how such work can promote quality of life in the changing world.
IIASA researcher Anastasia Aldelina Lijadi will present two recent papers at this conference, "Empowered life years: New comprehensive well-being indicator to serves as sustainability criterion" and "Adjusting quality of life: Narrative from repatriated families with third culture kids". Lijadi joined the World Population (POP) Program as Research Scholar in September 2017. She is part of the team working under a 2017 ERC grant to make an unconventional cross-disciplinary contribution to advancing the discussion around and search for broadly acceptable and empirically measurable quantitative indicators of socioeconomic progress and long-term human well-being that can serve as criteria for judging sustainable development.
