Riding the Population Wave: Seminar under the Honorary Patronage of the President of Poland

Vegard Skirbekk gives a speech at the Population Wave Conference

Population Europe organized the conference 'Riding the Population Wave: Policy Options for the ageing Baby-Boomer Generation in Europe' with a focus on possible changes in the fields of education, work and retirement, and the question to what extend human capital development can substitute consequences of ageing.

The conference was inaugurated by Bronislaw Komorowski, the President of Poland, followed by Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, Minister of Labour and Social Policy, and Janina Józwiak, Director of the Institute of Statistics and Demography, Warsaw School of Economics. European researchers, policy-makers and NGO representatives participated in the seminar to present their recent findings.

The World Population Program was represented by Vegard Skirbekk, who gave a speech entitled 'Can Human Capital Development Substitute Consequences of Aging'.
