POP representation at the IIASA Workshop on the future developments of fertility

Hosted by IIASA in collaboration with the Wittgenstein Centre and the University of Oxford, international experts discussed some core questions:

  1. What are the most important factors that will determine fertility in the next four decades in particular regions?
  2. Will the negative education gradient in fertility among women diminish or reverse in the future?
  3. What is the most common future family size globally: two? One? Zero? Three?
