Lecture: The future of urban energy systems

On 11 February, IIASA Transitions to New Technologies Program Leader Arnulf Grubler will deliver the Laing O'Rourke Centre Annual Distinguished Lecture at Imperial College London.

As more and more people move to large cities, urban energy use becomes an increasingly important factor in sustainable development and energy demand and supply.

In his lecture, Grubler will present new data, analysis, and policy insights related to urban energy systems, including insights from the recently released Global Energy Assessment (GEA). Grubler served as a Coordinating Lead Author for GEA, leading the chapter on urban energy.
