IPCC: Summarizing Health Implications

IIASA Energy Program Director Keywan Riahi will attend an IPCC meeting to summarize the health implications and conclusions from the recently published 5th Assessment Report.

The recently published IPCC AR5 report deals with health not only in a dedicated chapter, but also refers to health, human security and human well-being throughout the entire report. The meeting, hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe in Bonn, Germany, aims to discuss AR5's implications for population health in the WHO European Region, as well as to summarize the key messages for in a short and succinct document, directed and environment and health professionals in Europe.

Dr. Riahi will speak on the co-benefits for health, economic and environmental development of climate change mitigation measures.
