The first Russian Demographic Data Sheet, a collaboration between IIASA, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA), and the Russian Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), was presented at the high-level Gaidar Forum on 13 January 2017 in Moscow. In the dedicated session at the conference, Sergei Scherbov presented the methodological background of the applied alternative indicators of population ageing and the major results to journalists, scientists and policy makers from across Russia.

The session was moderated by Tatyana Maleva, Director at the Institute of Social Analysis and Forecasts (RANEPA) and included a panel discussion about the data sheet results. IIASA Director General and CEO Pavel Kabat, World Population Program Director Wolfgang Lutz, Konstantin Laykam, Deputy Head, Federal Service of State Statistics, and Valery Yelizarov, Head, Center for Population Studies, Lomonosov Moscow State University were among the discussants.
